Plato, IL will be discussing their Living Center after the congregation finishes taking a
survey during the month of June.
Deaconess Barbara Hemme is a second career deaconess serving part-time at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Hampshire, IL since 2013. She has spent the last 40
years in accounting, most recently as CFO of a manufacturing company. The vision for this project began during her deaconess formation, when she realized how many people were afraid of moving
into nursing homes, and that others missed worship and their church family when they had moved into a nursing home. She also has a heart for caring for the deaconesses who care for others in
God’s Kingdom. In May 2015 God laid a vision on her heart to build the first Living Center along with a deaconess house and St. Peter’s had available land. She is always amazed at how God moves
mountains by providing everything we need at just the right time. And she’s excited that this organization is being led by deaconesses! Please join her in praying daily for Cedars
Lutheran Living Centers. Soli Deo Gloria.
